HUMIDITY & MOISTURE TESTING
Humidity and Moisture Testing involves testing the relative humidity in the various rooms of your home. High relative humidity creates an uncomfortable "clammy" feeling - and supports growth of mold and other pernicious conditions.
Your air conditioning system is designed to dry the air in your house as well as cool it. This test shows whether it is doing the job satisfactorily.
PROCESS
Excessive moisture threatens the durability of your home and the health of its occupants.
-
Relative Humidity Measurement
Measuring the relative humidity of all the rooms in your house indicates whether your air conditioning system is doing its job of dehumidifying.
-
Blower Door Test
This tells if excessive infiltration of hot, humid air is occurring in individual rooms and whether bathrooms need their exhaust fans activated by humidistats.

Moisture Testing
Moisture meters test the amount of moisture in common building materials such as wood, sheetrock, plaster, brick, roofing, siding, etc. High levels of moisture can exist without being visible, causing a multiplicity of nasty problems. Testing with a moisture meter can show that a window or roof is leaking before the problem becomes severe.
